Minutes of the March 14, 2012 Meeting

CALL TO ORDER / INTRODUCTIONS / APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at Hawk’s Prairie Inn Restaurant in Lacey by Josette Miller, followed by introductions.  The minutes of the prior meeting where approved.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Larry Weniger

Larry presented the current financial information summary.  Members were again encouraged to pay their 2012 membership renewal soon.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

MEMBERSHIP – Art Carter

Membership matters are up to date.

WEBSITE – Art Carter

SCHOLARSHIP FUND – Karen Johnson & Mark Twardzicki

Mark reported no new updates.

NWACC – George Schwartz

NWACC approved CdeO as the sponsoring club for the 2012 NWACC Annual Banquet.

NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM – George Schwartz

No updates. 

HISTORIAN – Marilyn Trogden 

Marilyn reported on the Mini Golf event with the Tacoma clubs and will bring pictures to the next meeting.  Nick and Sugar both exuberantly reported this event was the most fun they have had in a long time.

SPONSORSHIP – Peggy Rogers

Peggy reported Resurrection Auto Body has become a CdeO sponsor.

SUNSHINE

Maggie reported Wayne Vandiver and Linda Carter were experiencing health issues and were sent cards wishing them a speedy recovery.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES – Josette Miller

The event sign up notebook was circulated amongst the members.  

Josette reported on the preferred events survey taken at the prior meeting and will be incorporating that information in scheduling our 2012 events.

Duncan and Dee reported SCCA had approved the Poker Rally route.  The planning and preparations are almost complete.  They could use more prizes and was hoping others could contribute their time and effort to helping with this. They requested additional help for certain support activities also.

Larry Johnson reported on the Corvettes & High Performance swap meet.  He reported there were 990 exhibitors and vendors at the meet and it was a great success.

Larry also reported he is proposing an all corvette gathering called 500 Corvettes for 2013.

Just as a reminder the 2012 Vette Festival will be held August 26, 2012 at the Lemay Museum.

OLD BUSINESS

There was no old business taken up from prior meetings.

NEW BUSINESS

There was a proposal to have a wine and car show with nearby wineries at their request.  After discussion it was tabled for future consideration.

Raffle – Larry Weniger

Raffle tickets were sold at the end of the meeting and raised more funds for the club.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05PM.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Hawk’s Prairie Inn.
