Minutes of the August 9th, 2006 Meeting

With the bang of the gavel at 7PM, the meeting began with introductions. Probably one of the largest meeting groups the club has ever had.


A motion was made and passed to approve the July minutes as posted.


Old Business


The Treasurer’s Report-


The treasurer’s report was given by Art.


Membership-

Art announced that we had 4 prospectives to vote into the club. Voted in were: Dana and Leo, Michele, Maggie and Larry, and Bob and Lynn. Congratulations to all of you and a big welcome to C de O. Also the membership roster is going around to be updated if any changes with your information.


This brings our total membership to about 90 individuals


Historian-


MEAGAN says she needs pictures for the history book.


Scholorship.


No report.


Website-


The website is up to date except for a few pictures of the Windy Ridge trip, which will be on soon.


Events & Activities-


SW Washington a lot of fun. No rain showers, great scenic route, with a lunch stop in Westport.


Upcoming events:


Jon reports, Lakefair Parade and Carshow Whidbey Island trip and Windy Ridge were the most recent events.


8/12-8/13 will be the club Olympic Peninsula weekend. Also 8/13 is the KBSG CarToys Car Show, from 10-4 at Southcenter.


8/20 will be the Volvo Gimmick Rally leaving from the Dealership at Fife. First car out at 10:15.


Saturday 8/26 is the LeMay Museum open house. 9/3 South Bend Parade and countryside tour. Breakfast will be no host at 8 AM, Country Cousin restaurant in Centralia, leaving by 9Am for a tour through places like Menlo, and Pe Ell arriving in South Bend in time for the parade.


Operation Backpack 8/15 6PM meeting at Chinook Middle School to be joined by the Mustang West Club and touring over to North Thurston District office to drop off backpacks full of school supplies. Then we will go to the Tumwater DQ for ice cream.


9/9/06 CHIPS annual open house and car show. Good food, music, dash plaques, prizes and visiting with friends, old and new. Also


9/9-9/10 Rally America needs help getting cars parked or ready to leave at Little Creek Casino. If you can help for a couple hours or have questions, contact JON.


9/23-9/24 Ocean Shores weekend. Mark is planning the tour down, and Chris and Josette are planning the fun and games for the evening, with assistance from Randy, & Larry & Vinnie.


10/8 Nick and Sugar are planning the mystery tour.


NWACC 2007 event for C de O will be co-chaired by JT and Peggy. More information will come later. A motion was made and passed for the to host a NWACC event 6/30-7/1/2007.


NWACC-


Meagan and George will attend the NWACC meeting at the Rose City event 8/12 and 8/13. If you plan to attend this event and need a room, contact Meagan/ NWACC needs more club participation to keep it going, NWACC cannot be successful and stay alive with clubs participating.


Our autocross event is 10/1 at Shelton airport. Sign up to help work or participate as a driver.

No report.


National Corvette Museum


George repots the museum is still fundraising for the expansion.


Sunshine committee


No activity, which is good news.


New Business


Cliff will work on getting information about our new members and maybe even some oldies for the newsletters.


The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.


Next meeting will be September 13th, at Tumwater Valley Resturant at 7PM.
