Minutes of the Jan 21st, 2006 Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Mr President Vinnie Punteney at 9 am. The usual introductions were made.

The minutes of the November meeting were approved as printed.

Old Business

The Treasurer’s Report-

Art gave the treasurer’s report, and noted that we have just paid out $1500 to SPSCC for our share of the scholarships awarded to automotive students.

Membership-

Tom M. was voted in as our newest member.

Anyone wanting to order name tags, contact George. As soon as the minimum number is met, we will order.

Dues are due March 1st, Art reminded us.

Historian-

Meagan is putting the finishing touches on the 2005 Historian Book and hopes to bring it to the next meeting. If you have any pictures, she needs them now.

Scholorship.

$1500 was given to SPSCC.

Events & Activities-

FEB 11, & 12th,Corvette and High Performance 32nd annual meet at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. There will be more display vehicles, Ford and Mopar vendors, and non-automotive vendors. And a Radio-Flyer drivable Wagon. See Larry for 1 hour early tickets, only $10. Don’t miss this bigger and better show.

REMINDER: immediately following Feb meeting, we will have a presentation about the Old Tacoma Racing history.

August 4th and 5th, Shelton Race track event.

LIONS CLUB annual pancake breakfast and car show 3/11/06. Watch for meeting time and place.

ACR update from Mark, sign up sheet going around. Need workers and prizes and members to run the pre run. From novice level to well experienced. Pre run is the 4/9 and the ALL CITY RALLY is 4/23.

NWACC-

Rules change proposal from George.
1) upgrade helmets for autocross to 1990 specs- approved by club
2)to clarify membership means any individual that belongs to a Corvette club, and takes NWACCC dues to read in the Constitution only, approved by the club.
3)eliminate NWACC membership card and number. Also approved.

Sponsorship Committee-

No report

National Corvette Museum

Pocket calendars for 2006 from the museum. See George.

New Business

Duncan reported that the LeMay cruise in had a great turnout. He and Rich attended, and Rich won peoples choice with his ’54. Congratulations, Rich. A vintage Chevy club took club participation award.

Dee is taking donations for V-Day, if anyone is interested, contact her.

The club is looking to order another batch of T-shirts and sweatshirts with the club logo. Jon will confirm price and status and let us know.

Vinnie wants the club to have a Sunshine committee, to sends cards and wishes, etc to members that are ill or in the hospital. Frankie volunteered to chair the committee.

Art had sample calendars from CSP and is taking orders.

Nominations of officers 2006, began and will finish nominations at the February meeting, followed by the election.

V President, Randy;
President, Vinny.

If you would like to run for an office or nominate someone, you still have the opportunity at the February meeting.

Raffle prizes; tickets to the CHIPS Puyallup meet (donated by Larry) were won by Wayne; 2 tickets to the Lions Pancake breakfast donated by Nick and Sugar were won by Cliff and the cash pot won by Ron G. Randy and Ron will both brings prizes to the next meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:55.

Next meeting, February 8th, Tumwater Valley Bar and Grill, 7PM.
