April 2009 Minutes

CALL TO ORDER / INTRODUCTIONS / APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday April 9, 2009 at Hawk’s Prairie Inn. Introduction of Members and their cars followed. The February minutes were brought to the floor for club approval. Two changes were needed. Jon Cox is not the NWACC representative, but rather the alternate, and the second change being the spelling correction of Camero to Camaro. The minutes where then seconded and approved.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Art Carter

Art reported the account balances and expected expenses. The changes from last month’s meeting where also brought to the floor for a vote. The first item up for a vote was in regards to a fee that the club is assessed when a member uses a credit card to pay their yearly dues. The current by laws did not have anything that addressed this issue, so it was sent to the club for their vote to allow the fee to be passed to the member when they pay their dues online.  The language reads: Member paying through the website with a credit card will have an additional fee of $1.52 or $0.86 for a family and individual members. The vote was passed and approved as presented. The second Item up for a vote was to address the fiscal year. The constitution would change to read: The CdeO fiscal year shall be twelve (12) months beginning January 1. The vote was passed and approved as presented.

SPONSORSHIP – Peggy Rogers

Peggy reported that Titus Will has renewed their sponsorship for the club for another year. And with that renewal and all of the others previously reported the club is not actively looking for more sponsors currently, but is keeping their eyes out for others, and would certainly not turn away other interested parties.

SCHOLARSHIP – Cliff Reichel & Karen Johnson
Nothing new to report

WEBSITE – Art Carter
Web site is up to date.

MEMBERSHIP – Art Carter

A few new faces where at the meeting. Anne Wax was also at the meeting and introduced her new silver C6. A motion was brought to the club and seconded to allow Anne to become a member, as she has fulfilled all the requirements, and was only in need of a car. The vote was approved and Anne was voted in as the latest member of CdeO.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE – Fankie Sokso
Frankie was not present.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES – Josette Miller and Betsy Cousineau

Betsy presented a bear to the club that was donated by Kathy Van diver that had a custom CdeO jacket. A discussion followed as to what to name the club bear and the final name became C. D. O’Bear.

Betsy and Jossete then explained there maps and markers idea to the club. The idea is for club members to mark out the routes that they have taken all over the Northwest, that contain ‘corvette’ roads. Hopefully in the future the ladies hope to make a book of the routes and explain what the routes consist of and what makes them a good road to try out.

Events and Activities purchased a calendar from the Lemay museum that will be used at meetings to allow members to use to view dates and activities.

A new book has been put together for all of the flyers and invites that come up, over the year. See Josette or Betsy to look at the activities.

Finally the ladies had a slideshow to show the club the results from the survey. 76% of the club responded and participated in the survey.

OLD BUSINESS

The Pancake breakfast was a great turn out from the club with a total of 22 cars participating in the event. The weather was great, as was the food. All money that we helped to raise goes right back to the community and helps people of all different needs. Rich Sokso and his 1954 Corvette won the people’s choice award. Following the breakfast there was about 8 cars that went on an impromptu tour.

NEW BUISNESS

Several dates are quickly approaching and members are encouraged to go to the club calendar online to view all those fun dates.

Eric asked the club to send any ideas or stories that members may have to email him. His request is also that any info that is being put in the newsletter be submitted to him no later than the 25th of the previous month, so he has time to get everything formatted and to the printer before the deadline.

ADJOURNMENT / RAFFLE

The 50/50 raffle winner responsible for bringing next month’s raffle prize is: Miranda Ries
There was no gift for the raffle as Frankie Sokso was not present at the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

The next meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May13, 2009, at Hawk’s Prairie Inn.

Minutes submitted by Miranda Ries, 2009 CdeO Secretary.
