March 9, 2011 Meeting Minutes

CALL TO ORDER / INTRODUCTIONS / APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at Hawk’s Prairie Inn Restaurant in Lacey, followed by introductions. Two errors were noted in the February minutes.  The February minutes had a title of January in the newsletter, and the fact that Meagan won $26.00 was omitted.  The minutes were approved with these two changes.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Larry Weniger
Larry presented the report.

Larry added that in addition to the funds reported, $960 dollars were deposited on March 1.  This income was primarily from membership dues and sponsor fees.  These funds will be included in next month’s Treasurer’s report.

OLD BUSINESS

There was no old business.

NEW BUSINESS

Art Carter raised the idea of moving to an electronic newsletter.
Currently, we spend around $1500 per year to print the newsletter.  Art wanted to float the idea of going electronic to the club before presenting the idea to sponsors for their input.

Several people expressed that we should ask the sponsors what they think of this idea, not tell them that we are doing this.  We need to hear their input before we decide.?
Peggy stated that she will contact Classy Chassis and Titus Will.?
Both Larry Johnson and Dr. Jim Gould expressed a preference for a paper newsletter as a sponsor.  We discussed making some paper copies available for sponsors and others who want them.?
We could see which members wish to receive electronic copies and immediately cut down on printing costs.?
The club agreed to move forward to discuss this option with our sponsors.

Raffle – Larry Weniger

1st prize – Jim Rogers
$14.00 Mark Twardzicki – Mark graciously donated his winnings to the Scholarship Fund.
